Raise My Voice

RaiseMyVoice.com is an independent media outlet that visually documents the peace movement, activist community, and contemporary issues from a progressive perspective in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The site operates with the philosophy that the best way to report on an event or issue is to present it as it happens, so that viewers can draw meanings for themselves.

Photos collections are hosted here as well as at the Raise My Voice photo collection at Flickr, where users can leave comments.

All of the videos are hosted at Raising My Voice at YouTube. Videos are presented in reverse chronological order according to the date an event occurs.

If you would like to receive notification when new photos and videos are added, subscribe to the Raise My Voice Newsletter (hosted at Yahoo Groups).

The print companion to this site is From the Ground Up, a quarterly 'zine that showcases the work and events from Edmonton's activist community.

This site is also the online home of the Edmonton Social Justice/Activist Resource and Contact Guide, a handbook for activist resources in Edmonton.
